The number of child home care allowance recipients in the Helsinki region remained stable
Last October–December, a total of 16,400 households received the child home care allowance in the Helsinki region. The number has remained stable compared with the corresponding period last year. The number of recipients slightly decreased (-2%) in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area; however, in Vantaa and Kauniainen, there were slightly fewer recipients than the year before. The number of recipients in parts of Finland outside the Helsinki region decreased (-4%).
In October–December, the number of families receiving the child home care allowance was 6,500 in Helsinki, 3,500 in Espoo, 2,900 in Vantaa and 3,400 in the KUUMA municipalities.
The number of children is also decreasing
The number of families receiving child home care allowance has been on the decline this decade, both in the Helsinki region and in all of Finland. The number of children cared for with the help of child home care allowance has also fallen when compared to the total number of children.
