In 2022, international cargo transport increased in the ports of Helsinki
The total volume of international cargo traffic in Helsinki’s ports increased by 6 per cent in 2022. Imports decreased by 11 per cent and exports by 1 per cent from the previous year.
In October–December, the total volume of international cargo traffic grew by 2 per cent from the corresponding period in the previous year. Imports increased by 11 per cent while exports decreased by 6 per cent.
Exports surpassed imports in early 2018. In 2022, exports amounted to 51 per cent of the total amount of freight traffic.
