Volume of production is decreasing in the Helsinki region
According to preliminary estimates, production in the Helsinki region started to decline in the fourth quarter of 2022. The decrease from the previous year was 1.5 per cent. A similar trend is present also in the whole country, slightly weaker than in the Helsinki region. According to preliminary estimates, the change in the volume of production was -0.3 per cent in the whole country. Turnover growth rates are still relatively high, but when the impact of inflation is taken into account, the real change is either negative or slightly positive in most sectors. Real production volume decreased in manufacturing, construction, commerce and household services. By contrast, production grew in other service sectors in real terms compared to the previous year.
