Expectations for the Finnish economy improved slightly
Consumer confidence in the good development of the Finnish economy collapsed in spring 2022. In the Helsinki Metropolitan Area, confidence declined rapidly to an exceptionally low level in the spring and stabilised between -26 and -30 in the autumn. However, since January, the situation has taken a turn for the better. In February 2023, the balance figure for expectations regarding economic development was -10.1. Consumer confidence calculated from the data of the whole country is slightly weaker, -17.5. Consumer confidence in the future of the Finnish economy is still rather weak, but clearly better than at the end of 2022.
