Migration gain increased in Helsinki and the KUUMA municipalities
The Helsinki region had a migration gain of 3,000 people in January–March, which was approximately 200 fewer than in the corresponding period of the previous year. The migration gain of Helsinki and the KUUMA municipalities grew from the previous year whereas the migration gain of Vantaa and Espoo decreased.
The migration gain in Helsinki was 660 people, whereas the migration gain in the beginning of the year has usually been nearly double that in this decade. Despite the decline, the migration gain in Vantaa remained at a high level with 1,040 people. The migration gain in Espoo was reduced to 430 people, -60 per cent compared to the corresponding period in the previous year. The migration gain in the KUUMA municipalities reached a new record of the decade at 820 people.
