Migration gain from foreign nationals increased
In October–December, approximately 2,850 more foreign nationals moved to the Helsinki region than away from it. The migration gain from foreign nationals increased by 700 people when compared to the corresponding period the year before, as the incoming migration grew more than outgoing. In the rest of Finland, migration gain grew by approximately 300 people.
In October−December, migration gain from foreign nationals totalled 960 people in Helsinki, approximately 700 people in Espoo and Vantaa and 400 people in the KUUMA municipalities. Aside from Helsinki, migration gain grew in other areas.
Last year, migration gain from foreign nationals increased by 170 people from last year in the Helsinki region. In Helsinki and Espoo, migration gain decreased, but grew in Vantaa by 1,100. Foreign nationals migrate to the Helsinki region from other parts of Finland as well as from abroad.
