Consumer expectations regarding the development of their own finances

Consumer confidence in the development of their own finances improved

According to the Consumer Survey by Statistics Finland, confidence in the development of one’s own finances continued to improve slightly among most consumers. In February, the balance figure describing expectations concerning consumers’ personal finances increased to +10.3 for the Helsinki Metropolitan Area. However, the figure is low compared to the long-term average. Presumably, many consumers feel that the accelerated inflation and rising interest rates will continue to weaken their financial position in the future. Expectations regarding the development of consumers’ personal finances also turned slightly positive in the whole country, increasing to +4.3.
