Office premises rents

Rental prices per square metre for offices in central Helsinki continued to rise

KTI’s rent index, which describes new office leases in the Helsinki city centre, was once again higher for contracts that started in March–August than in the previous monitoring periods. The index for rental prices increased by 4.8 per cent from the previous year.

New office leases in the city centre once again set new records in terms of price per square metre, as the median price stood at almost EUR 35. However, the accelerating inflation and the gloomy economic outlook give rise to discussions on remote work and the more efficient use of space it entails. In terms of demand, the future is looking bright for high-quality offices in premium locations, but market forecasts for lower-quality properties have weakened.
