Fewer vacant jobs compared with the previous year, especially in the Helsinki region
Towards the end of 2020, the number of vacant jobs registered with the Employment and Economic Development Offices increased in the Helsinki region by 27 per cent compared with the corresponding previous year. The number of vacant jobs decreased nationally by 13 per cent.
The number of vacant jobs in the Helsinki region was 11,227, which represents 24 per cent of all vacant jobs in the country.
Numbers of open vacancies increased until March 2020
The number of vacant jobs registered with the Employment and Economic Development Offices increased in the Helsinki region between 2015 and March 2020. The downturn is mostly explained by the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic on the labour market.
