Proportion of periods of good air quality increased at the Mannerheimintie and Leppävaara measuring points
In January−March, the proportion of periods of good air quality increased slightly at the Mannerheimintie and Leppävaara measuring points in comparison to the corresponding period in the previous year. A slight decrease in the proportion of periods of good air quality was observed in Tikkurila. Air quality was considerably better than previously throughout the measuring points in January. However, the proportion of passable or poor air quality in February and March was slightly larger in Leppävaara and Tikkurila in comparison to the previous year.
In January–March, the average proportions of periods of good air quality totalled 71.9 per cent in Leppävaara, 72.5 per cent in Tikkurila and 71.8% on Mannerheimintie. The air quality was mainly satisfactory during other periods.
At the Mannerheimintie measuring point, air quality has mostly been satisfactory in recent years, but in 2018, the proportion of good air quality surpassed the proportion of satisfactory air quality. In Leppävaara and Tikkurila, the air quality has been good for most of the time since 2015. Street dust decreases the air quality in the spring especially.
