Female unemployment rates decreased in particular

According to the sample-based Labour Force Survey conducted by Statistics Finland, the unemployment rate of women living in the Helsinki region was 1.4 percentage points lower at the end of December compared to the previous year. At the same time, the male unemployment rate decreased by 0.5 percentage points.  At the national level, the unemployment rate among men dropped more compared with the Helsinki region.

The unemployment rate of men higher than that of women

At the end of December, the unemployment rate of men was 6.6 per cent and that of women 5.6 per cent in the Helsinki region. In all of Finland, the percentage of the unemployed in the labour force was 6.4 per cent for men and 5.6 per cent for women, same as in the Helsinki region.
